Dr Stephen Bambery is a leading Victorian based ophthalmologist, with many years of experience in advanced cataract surgery, refractive surgery, and glaucoma management.
Stephen obtained his MBBS at the University of Melbourne, then completed his Ophthalmology training in Melbourne, based at the Royal Victorian Eye & Ear Hospital. He then pursued post-graduate surgical training in the United Kingdom.
Stephen was one of the first surgeons in Melbourne to perform Laser Vision Correction surgery, and can offer PRK, LASIK, and KLEx (Smile) to appropriate candidates. He was the first Melbourne ophthalmologist to use the Implantable Contact Lens and has been an early adopter of intraocular lenses (IOLs), including extended depth of focus and multifocal IOLs. He is also experienced in the implantation of intraocular stents to treat glaucoma.
